A Claude Project is a folder-like workspace that lives inside your Claude account. You give the project a name, upload a set of files to it, and maybe write a few lines of custom instructions. From then on, every new chat you start inside that project can see those files and follow those instructions — you don’t have to re-paste anything.
It’s the difference between having a fresh conversation with a stranger every time, and having conversations with someone who already knows your situation.

Where you’ll find Projects
Projects is available on claude.ai in the browser and in the Claude desktop app. The same projects sync across both. You need a paid plan (Pro or Max) to create projects; the free tier has limited access.
