AI summary
Claude’s sales connectors cover roughly 20 tools across CRM, prospecting, and call analytics. The highest-impact moves are the lead-to-outreach loop (pull leads from HubSpot or Apollo, enrich, draft personalized first-touch) and the call-to-CRM loop (Sybill or Grain transcript in, decisions plus commitments out, logged to the right opportunity). Setup is OAuth for HubSpot, Attio, Close, and Zoho CRM. API key for Apollo and Clay. Start with one CRM, add one prospecting tool, add one call-analytics tool.
A connector is a connection to data, not a magic button. It tells Claude where to read. Whether the output is useful still depends on what you ask and how you check the result.
Sales teams have the messiest tool stack in software, and Claude meets that mess where it lives. The connector catalog covers the three layers every modern revenue org uses: a CRM where opportunities sit (HubSpot, Salesforce, Attio, Close, DevRev, Zoho), a prospecting layer where leads get found and enriched (Apollo.io, Clay, ZoomInfo, Lusha, Crossbeam, Vibe Prospecting), and a call-and-conversation layer where rep activity turns into structured data (Sybill, Grain, Common Room, Day AI, Sprouts, Clarify, Zocks). Picking the right three to connect first matters more than connecting all of them.
What does the sales category include?
- CRM (system of record). HubSpot, Salesforce (via partner connectors), Attio, Close, DevRev, Zoho CRM, Clarify. The opportunity, contact, and deal layer.
- Prospecting and enrichment. Apollo.io, Clay, ZoomInfo, Lusha, Crossbeam, Sprouts, Vibe Prospecting, Harmonic. Find leads, enrich with firmographic and intent signals, score for fit.
- Call and conversation intelligence. Sybill, Grain, Common Room, Day AI, Zocks, Sprouts. Pulls call transcripts, extracts commitments, surfaces deal risk.
- Customer success and account expansion. Gainsight, Aiera, AdisInsight. Renewals, health scoring, account-level news monitoring.
- Specialty sales intelligence. Sybill (rep coaching), Common Room (community-led growth), Day AI (account research).
Which sales connector should I add first?
- The CRM your team already uses. HubSpot for most SMB, Salesforce for most mid-market and up, Attio or Close for newer startups, Zoho for international and price-sensitive teams. This is the system of record; the other connectors enrich it.
- One prospecting layer. Apollo.io if you want all-in-one. Clay if your team likes building enrichment workflows. ZoomInfo if your org pays for it already.
- One call analytics tool. Sybill or Grain. Both surface transcripts and decisions in formats Claude reads cleanly.
Three connectors is enough to run the two highest-impact workflows below. Add more only when you hit a specific gap.
Standout prompts for the sales stack
- Lead-to-Outreach Loop. Pulls leads added this week from HubSpot or Apollo, filters to ICP match, drafts a personalized first-touch email per lead grounded in their actual title and company.
- Daily Pipeline Brief. Morning routine. Pulls open opportunities from CRM, flags the three most at-risk based on stage age and last-touch date, drafts a check-in for each.
- Account Research from One URL. Give Claude a company URL, it pulls the company record from CRM (if exists), enriches via Apollo or Clay, summarizes recent news, drafts a relevant outreach angle.
- Call-to-CRM Loop. Pulls yesterday’s Sybill or Grain transcript, extracts commitments and next steps, drafts the activity log entry for CRM, drafts the follow-up email.
- Deal Risk Surfacing. Reads open opportunities, flags ones where last meaningful contact was over 14 days ago, drafts a re-engagement message customized to that deal stage.
- Discovery Call Prep. Thirty minutes before each discovery call, pulls the prospect’s company profile, their LinkedIn (via Apollo or Clay), last three news items about their company, drafts three opening questions.
- Pipeline Health Audit. Monthly. Reads all opportunities, classifies by health, surfaces stage-conversion bottlenecks, drafts a one-page summary for your sales leader.
- Lost Deal Postmortem. Reads the call transcripts and email history from a lost deal, writes a one-paragraph postmortem grounded in what the prospect actually said.
- Cold Email A/B Round Robin. Generates three variations of an outreach email, each grounded in a different value-prop angle from the prospect’s actual context.
- Sales-to-Marketing Loop. Reads SDR call transcripts, extracts the objections that came up most often, drafts a brief for the marketing team on what content needs to exist.
How do I add the HubSpot connector?
- In Claude, open the toolbox in the bottom-left, click Customize, then Connectors.
- Click the +, then Browse connectors.
- Search for HubSpot. Click + on the card.
- The HubSpot OAuth popup opens. Sign in as a user with at least read access to the records you want Claude to see. Approve the scopes (contacts, deals, companies by default; activity log if you want Claude to write).
- Test: “Show me my five most recent open deals, sorted by value.” If they come back, HubSpot is live.
Same five-step pattern works for Attio, Close, Zoho CRM, DevRev. The prospecting tools (Apollo, Clay, ZoomInfo) tend to use API keys instead of OAuth; you generate one in the source app’s admin panel and paste it.
What are the limits?
- Write scopes are opt-in. Claude can read your CRM by default. To create or update records (logging activity, moving deal stage), you grant write scope explicitly during setup.
- Per-query record cap. A single prompt usually pulls 50-200 records. For larger pulls (audit the whole pipeline, all accounts in a segment), do it in batches.
- Enrichment costs money. Apollo, Clay, and ZoomInfo enrichments consume credits on your account. Claude triggering an enrichment is the same as you clicking the button in their UI.
- Conversation-intelligence transcripts are per-call. Sybill and Grain hand Claude one transcript at a time. For cross-call analysis, you ask the source tool first, then bring the result into Claude.
Are these connectors safe to use with customer data?
For paid Claude plans (Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise), data accessed via connectors is not used to train models and is not retained beyond what is needed to fulfill the request. For sales teams the practical safeguards:
- Read-only scopes by default. Claude does not modify CRM records unless you grant write access during setup.
- Per-user OAuth. Each rep authenticates as themselves and only sees data their CRM role allows.
- Enterprise admins can restrict which connectors users can install. If your org uses Claude Team or Enterprise, ask your admin which sales connectors are approved.
- For regulated industries (finance, healthcare, government), check the Anthropic Trust Center for specific compliance posture before connecting customer PII.
When does a connector pay off vs. just chatting with Claude?
Connectors earn their setup time when the data updates faster than you can retype it, lives behind login, or runs into the thousands of items. For one-off questions about static information, plain Claude through the chat interface is faster than installing anything. The break-even is usually around the third time you would otherwise be copy-pasting context for the same kind of question. Frequently asked questions
Does Claude replace my SDR or AE?
No. It compresses the time they spend on research, drafting, and CRM hygiene. The first-touch outreach is still sent by the rep after review. The call is still run by the rep. Claude handles the “before” (account research, prep) and the “after” (logging, follow-up drafting) so the rep can focus on the conversation itself.
Can Claude move deals through stages automatically?
Technically yes if you grant write scope. Practically, we do not recommend it. Stage moves are a high-impact action that should stay rep-confirmed. Use Claude to draft the activity log and suggest the stage change; have the rep click to commit.
Which CRM connector is the most polished?
HubSpot, as of May 2026. It exposes the deepest read access and the cleanest activity-log writes. Attio and Close are close behind. Salesforce works but requires more setup because the data model is so customizable per org; expect to do some upfront object mapping.
Do enrichment credits get consumed if Claude looks up the same lead twice?
Yes if you trigger a fresh enrichment. Apollo, Clay, and ZoomInfo charge per lookup. To avoid burning credits, have Claude check the CRM record first (free), and only call the enrichment tool if the record is empty or stale.
Can Claude write call summaries from raw audio?
Not directly. Claude needs a transcript, which the call-analytics tool produces. Connect Sybill, Grain, Common Room, or whatever your team uses, and Claude works from the structured transcript that tool generates.
Is there a “sales mode” in Claude?
Not as a single toggle. You build it through the combination of CRM connector plus prospecting connector plus call-analytics connector, with a few custom prompts saved at the top of your sidebar. The Prompt Library has a dedicated sales section with the standout prompts pre-written.
